Update (20/1/2017): Vivo V5 Plus is reportedly retailing at offline stores for 27,990 INR

Two new selfie first smartphones, the Vivo V5 Plus and the Vivo V5 Lite, have now been officially detailed days ahead of their India launch on January 23. The hardware specifications are the same as was reported in leaked reports earlier.

The Vivo V5 Plus has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with two camera sensors lined on top of it. The additional 8MP camera compliments 20MP primary selfie shooter and is used for depth sensing. You can click selfies and then blur the background. This should help because the 20MP shooter we experienced on the Vivo V5 had a tendency to overexpose selfie backdrops.

Also, there is selfie flash on the front and this time around Vivo is branding it as ‘the Softlite flash’ (Instead of moonlight flash in Vivo V5). It is still slim and looks elegant, and the Antenna bands take inspiration from Apple’s current generation iPhones.

Other details include 3160mAh battery with fast charging, 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5, dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE support, HiFi Audio, and a Fingerprint sensor.

Other notable features include a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, Hybrid Dual SIM slot, 3000mAh battery, Funtouch OS 3.0 based on Android Marshmallow, HiFi Audio, and 4G VoLTE support.
