Asus today launched the Asus Zenfone S in the country which is basically an Indian version of the Zenfone 3 Zoom. The photography centric smartphone is announced on a world photography day. The new Zoom kid is a successor of original Zenfone Zoom which was launched in India way back in 2015.

What’s so special about the Zenfone Zoom S aka Zenfone 3 Zoom?

Asus Zenfone Zoom S Features

The real highlight of the Zenfone Zoom S is its rear camera. Unlike the bulky optical Zoom tech that we witness with the original Zenfone Zoom, the new Zenfone 3Zoom takes inspiration from Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus dual cameras to offer up to 2.3X optical zoom and digital zoom up to 12X.

The Zenfone 3 Zoom sports 12MP dual rear sensors. While the first one has a 25mm wide angle lens with f/1.7 aperture, the second camera uses a 56mm telephoto lens for lossless zoom. The phone also has a portrait mode for Bokeh or blurred background shots.

As far as specs are concerned, the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom features a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, metal back with antenna bands along with rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. Asus has added 4GB of memory and 64GB of internal storage which can be bumped up to 2TB via microSD card.

For audiophiles, the Zenfone Zoom S comes with a 5-Magnet speaker that is boosted by an NXP SmartAMP and HiRes certified for headphone playback.

In India, the Zenfone Zoom S will come running on Android Nougat based Zen UI 3.0 out of the box. The Zoom S measures 7.1mm at its thinnest point but the massive 5000mAh battery pushes the weight all the way up to 170 grams.
