Apple’s “Education Event” in the US, last night, saw the inclusion of new iPad aimed at school students. The new iPad comes with a slew of hardware and software changes from its previous models and will look to take on Google Chromebooks, which are quite popular in education sector. (हिंदी में पढ़िए)

Apple iPad Features
The iPad boasts a 9.7-inch retina display with thick broad bezels up front and is powered by A10 fusion chip for augmented reality. It is also coupled with Advance sensors that measure both pressure and tilt and provide pixel-perfect accuracy and low latency for activities ranging from note taking to the illustration in apps like Notability, Pages, Numbers, Keynote and Microsoft Office.
To make the new iPad more relevant to students, Apple has also designed a special software that enhances the functionality of Pencil. As per company’s statement, “Apple Pencil delivers a remarkably fluid and natural drawing experience.”

Other features of the tablet include Touch ID, an HD FaceTime camera, 10 hours of battery life, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and LTE option. Apple is also boosting its cloud storage by offering 200GB to students – up from 5GB.
In addition to the new hardware, Apple also launched a new app called Schoolworks. It will allow teachers to circulate educational data digitally and specify activities for students. This app will be rolled out in June. Further, there will also be an Apple Teacher app that will help teachers improve professionally.
Apple iPad 9.7-Inch Price and Availability
Apple is offering the new iPad to schools priced at $299 and to consumers for $329. Similarly, the optional Apple Pencil is priced at $89 for schools and $99 for others.
In India, the new iPad 9.7-inch has been priced at Rs 28,000 for non-cellular connectivity and Rs 38,600 for WiFi and Cellular connectivity model. You can purchase the iPad in three color options: Silver, Space Grey and Gold. Meanwhile, the Apple Pencil will sell for Rs 7,600 in the country.
