Huawei P20 and P20 Pro Launched: Specs, Price, and Everything Else

Following a barrage of leaks, Huawei has finally launched its P20 Pro, and P20 at an event in Paris, France. Huawei is taking its camera hardware and software very seriously and quite a few eyeballs rolled when Huawei talked about its triple rear cameras. Huawei P20 Pro Features

The biggest highlight of the P20 Pro launch today has been its 40MP Leica Triple Camera setup. This unique setup includes an 8MP 3X optical lens + 40MP Primary RGB Sensor and 20MP Mono sensor. It can take pictures in 5X lossless zoom with Huawei P20 Pro. It comes with 4-in-one hybrid focus system and color temperature sensor embedded in the flash.

That’s not all, Huawei claims that the P20 pro comes with largest camera sensor ever with 125% bigger than Galaxy S9+ and 170% bigger than iPhone X. Another claim that Huawei makes is it can match Canon 5D Mark IV peak ISO setting i.e. 102400. It can match Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus super slo-mos by shooting videos at 960 FPS. Huawei has introduced it’s one AIS – AI image stabilization which uses machine learning for stabilization. DxO mark has given the P20 Pro an overall score of 109 which is 10 points better than its previous best.

The Huawei P20 Pro rocks a 6.1-inch screen RGBW full view display where W stands for white. It also has iPhone X like notch though, Huawei gives itself a pat on the back for keeping its notch smaller than Apple. The phone has slim bezels and competitive screen-to-body ratios and rounded edges, which ensures it looks appealing to the eye. 

Huawei P20 Features

The Huawei P20, on the other hand, comes with Natural tone display with a notch. The P20  comes with all new Lecia new Dual camera setup of 12MP RGB + 20MP Monochrome sensor with 1.55um big pixel with f/1.8 and f/2. aperture. As per Huawei, the P20 has 22 percent bigger sensor size than Galaxy S9+ and 6 percent larger than iPhone X.

The Pro and P20 both houses a 24-megapixel selfie camera which also comes with 3D detection and 3D Portrait lighting feature. The DxO has given the Huawei P20 Camera an overall rating of 102 which is better than any other camera available in the market today.

Both Huawei P20 Pro and P20 comes are water and dust resistance. The P20 is IP53 rated while the Huawei P20 Pro is IP67 certified to protect against water and dust.  Both phones came with Edge Sweep fingerprint.

Both these devices will come running on Android Oreo 8.1 based EMUI 8.1 out of the box with deeply customized Google Assitant, NNAPI and ARCore. The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro are powered by Kirin 970 with Neural Engine.

Huawei P20 Pro and P20 Prices

The Huawei P20 4GB+ 128 GB is priced at 649 euros which is roughly Rs. 52,169 while P20 Pro 6GB + 128GB costs 899 Euro which comes to roughly Rs 72,265 on conversion. The Huawei P20 is already available in Europe while the P20 Pro will go on sale from April 6th onwards.
