The Indian festival season is about to begin, and so is the launch season for new cars. While the first half of 2024 saw some important launches, the second half may see more launches, starting with Tata Curvv’s ICE versions that will debut in September. Maruti Suzuki could also reveal the 2024 Dzire, while companies like Hyundai and Honda are also gearing up for launches. Given that the automobile industry is going through the worst slowdowns in a few years, the new launches could help boost sales.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire
With the new 3-cylinder Swift, buyers also expected Maruti Suzuki to reveal the new Dzire, but that didn’t happen. However, the sub-4m sedan is expected to debut this year itself. Commanding a higher price range than the 2024 Swift, the 2024 Dzire will have more features like a sunroof, a wireless phone charger, a larger infotainment screen, and so on. At the heart of the car will be the new 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 82PS, compatible with E20 petrol. The car will offer slightly more space than Swift, with more boot capacity and legroom in the second row.
Its expected price is around Rs. 7 lakh (ex-showroom).
New Honda Amaze
With a starting price of around Rs. 7.50 lakh, the new Honda Amaze could make its way to Indian roads by the end of this year, possibly before Diwali. The new Amaze could be based on a brand-new platform, a compact version of the new Honda City. Further, the car could sport several modern features, such as an electric sunroof, wireless charging, bigger infotainment screens, and more safety-related features.

Tata Nexon iCNG
Indian automaker Tata Motors revealed the current version of its mid-sized SUV, Nexon, in September 2023. While the vehicle is already available in petrol and diesel engine options, buyers have been waiting for its CNG variant. Although Tata has showcased the technology at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo, it hasn’t launched the Nexon iCNG yet. However, rumors suggest that the manufacturer could reveal Nexon with a dual-cylinder CNG tank in the coming months.
If rumors are accurate, Tata could unveil the Nexon iCNG in September 2024, with the launch of Tata Curvv with ICE engines. It is important to mention that the Tata Nexon iCNG will be the country’s first CNG car to ship with a turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. However, the power output might decrease when the car runs on CNG. Since the Tata Altrox iCNG offers cruise control, we also expect Nexon’s CNG variants to offer the feature on selected trims.
Tata Nexon iCNG could be launched at a starting price of Rs. 9 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Curvv ICE
Earlier this month, Tata took the curtains off one of the most hyped electric vehicles in a while: Tata Curvv.ev. On September 2, 2024, the company will unveil the ICE variants of the coupe SUV, including petrol, turbo-petrol, and diesel options. While the car will retain most of the design elements from its electric version, it will come with a few changes to set it apart. While the ICE variants are already available at some Tata dealerships, the company will announce the models with their respective pricing next month. We expect the petrol variant to start at around Rs. 11 lakh (ex-showroom) and the diesel variant to be around Rs. 13 lakh (ex-showroom).
2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift

Nonetheless, the company will officially reveal the models and their respective pricing on September 9, 2024. We expect the base model to be priced around R. 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
