Hyundai’s Indian arm has just confirmed something buyers have been yearning for years: new generations of two of its most important India products, the Creta and the i10. Although the automaker hasn’t announced any specific dates, it confirmed that the cars will reach local showrooms before the end of this decade.
When Can You Actually Expect Them?
Neither car has a firm on-sale date yet, so don’t get your hopes up. Furthermore, Hyundai isn’t the type to rush a launch before the assembly lines are ready (especially when it comes to quality control). However, test mules of the next-generation Creta have already been spotted on Indian roads.
Though the mules were highly camouflaged, they still gave us a good look at the boxier proportions and what looks like a relatively larger profile. Given that the Seltos is already larger than the current-generation Creta, it looks like Hyundai’s product is trailing behind in terms of dimensions, interior space, and legroom. However, if some rumors are to be believed, the 2027 Creta could be even bigger, reaching the 4.4 or 4.5 meter mark.
On the other hand, the Grand i10’s replacement is further off. With the Exter facelift already out and anticipation around the purported Bayon SUV, Hyundai might want to give the i10 some time before unveiling it in late 2027 or early 2028. Anyways, the lineup’s loyal customers have been asking for a generational update for quite some time, and it looks like they’ll get it in a couple of years.
What’s Actually Changing
Reports suggest the next Creta will adopt the same underlying platform as the latest-generation Kia Seltos. While this could result in a longer wheelbase, it could also translate into better crash test ratings. Hyundai’s newer Pleos Connect infotainment system is tipped to headline the cabin refresh with the 2027 Creta.

Under the hood, buyers should expect the similar 1.5-liter petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel trio to soldier on. However, I strongly feel that the tried-and-tested trio could be joined by a strong-hybrid option, perhaps even before it debuts in the Seltos.
The i10, meanwhile, looks set for a fresh platform and design language while keeping its dependable 1.2-liter engine, in both petrol and CNG variants.
