Google Pixel review

The Google Pixel is designed to deliver a Google-centric experience, complete with perfect integration of all the services Google has to offer, as well as the introduction to Android's new Google Assistant, now more talkative, helpful, and exclusive to Pixel. The design of the Pixel is quite reminiscent of the iPhone-esque HTC One A9, with a variation of the HTC 10's beveled edge that is found all the way around the backside of the phone.

Google Pixel Review

Every bit as good as the XL version, but with a smaller display and battery. The Pixel delivers a total experience that is simply more joyful than other Android phones, and it does this not by trying to give us more of everything, but by focusing. It’s not what the Pixel does, it’s that it does everything so damn well, and so simply, that it gives you hope for a future of Android that isn’t a scattershot cesspool of mismatched apps, interfaces, and bloat read more →

Google Pixel

If you lust after the latest Android software and cool new features in the Google Pixel XL, but are turned off by large phones, the 5-inch Pixel is a superb alternative. Like the larger XL, the back of the Pixel has a pane of glass inlaid in the upper half, with a fingerprint sensor set in the middle. It's a unique design that prevents the Pixel from looking like every other phone out there.

You won't find a microSD card slot, so you're limited to internal storage, as with the iPhone. read more →

The Google Pixel is an excellent flagship phone that's only let down by mediocre battery life and the still-developing Assistant. If you can stomach the price point, the Pixel is a breath of fresh Google air in a world of Android over-complication. The Google Pixel sports a first for Google's smaller smartphone a full glass and metal body along with a 5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, 12MP rear camera, fingerprint scanner and 8MP front snapper. read more →

  • Supremely smooth performance
  • Bright, colorful full HD display

  • Battery life could be better
  • Assistant yet to realize potential

Google Pixel Review

The Pixel XL first makes us appreciate the smaller Pixel all the more; it's not that the XL was necessarily too big, but it's fantastic to see such a big portion of what made that phone so appealing translate to this smaller size without losing much of anything.

Of course, there's a flip side to that, and many of the problems we had with the Pixel XL carry right over to the Pixel – or in the case of the display's middling brightness, end up being exacerbated here. read more →

  • Unique design with a build that feels even better than the Pixel XL
  • Battery life isn't just good, but could even beat the Pixel XL
  • Well-done camera makes it easy to capture impressive pics
  • Pixel Imprint fingerprint scanner put to great use with gesture controls
  • Display in need of a brightness boost
  • A little on the thick side for a phone this size
  • No waterproofing/dust resistance
