Xiaomi Redmi A2 Series launched in India starting at Rs. 5999

Xiaomi India has launched a host of new products today that cater to the budget segment of consumers in the country. Redmi A2 Series has officially been unveiled in India that includes 2 smartphones- Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+. The successor to the previously launched Xiaomi Redmi A1, this new series promises to do better in design as well as specs, that too at a very aggressive price point. Let us have a look at the price, availability, and features of these 2 new devices.

Redmi A2 Series: Price & Availability

The Redmi A2 smartphone will come in 3 storage configurations-

  • 2GB RAM+32GB storage- Rs. 5999
  • 2GB RAM+64GB storage- Rs. 6499
  • 4GB RAM+64GB storage- Rs. 7499

The Redmi A2+ comes in a single storage model-

4GB RAM+64GB storage- Rs. 8499

It will come in 3 shades Sea Green, Aqua Blue, and Classic Black.

The first sale will take place on 23rd May at 12 Noon via Mi.com, Amazon. In and Xiaomi Retail stores.

Redmi A2 & A2+ Specifications

Redmi A2 Series smartphones are powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G36 chipset with a clock speed of up to 2.2GHz. These are equipped with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB onboard storage with a dedicated microSD card slot to expand storage. 3GB Virtual RAM is also available which can boost up the RAM up to 7GB.

Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ sport a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 1600×720 pixel resolution, and a 120Hz touch sampling rate. There is a loudspeaker, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an in-built FM Radio App as well.

The vanilla as well as the Plus variants of the Redmi A2 Series sport an 8MP dual camera setup at the back and a 5MP selfie shooter at the front. The camera comes with portrait mode, time-lapse, short video mode, and more. These pack a 5000mAh battery under the hood along with a clean Android 13 experience. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor as well.

The smartphones have a splash-resistant body with a leather finish design, corrosion-proof ports, rubberized seals, and a 2+1 dedicated card slot. Redmi gives 2 years warranty on its A2 Series and has also opened up an at-home smartphone set-up service for senior citizen users.
