Xiaomi’s most awaited smartphone as of today has to be the Redmi Note 5, but it looks like we will have to wait some more for the next Redmi Note to go official. Meanwhile, Xiaomi has rolled out invites for the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus launch in China.  The upcoming Redmi 5  phones will have an 18:9 display panel and will be powered by Snapdragon 450 processor.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus Features (Expected)

Thanks to several credible leaks, we have a good idea of what the new Redmi phones will bring to the table even prior to their official launch.

Xiaomi will be using the same semi-metal unibody design (with plastic caps on top and bottom) for the Redmi 5 phones as well. Interestingly, the Redmi 5 duo will have an 18:9 display that’s 5.7-inches in size. Even considering the minimal bezels around the display, Redmi 5 shouldn’t be a compact phone as its predecessors have been.

For photography, the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus include a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Other features include a rear fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, hybrid dual SIM slots, 4G VoLTE support and 3200mAh battery.

The Redmi 5 Plus is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 625 chipset and include a bigger 4000mAh battery.
