Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to make its debut in the first week for October in the China. Since, Redmi Note 4 continues to be a hot seller for the company its safe to bet on Xiaomi that it will introduce Redmi Note 5 in India.

Though Xiaomi is keeping a tight control over the information Redmi Note 5, there have some unauthorized leaks that give us a rough idea about what’s can we expect from the Redmi Note 4 successor.

As per the Redmi Note 5 related leaks on Weibo, Xiaomi is working on notch up its game to further strengthen its position in India market. According to some unverified account on Weibo, the Redmi Note 5 could arrive superior Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset which will ensure an improvement in performance and speed.

Apart from the chipset, other major upgrade is possible in the optics arena. The phone could become first Redmi series phone to feature dual camera setup. The post also hits a 16MP + 5MP dual camera setup. There is still uncertainty over what sort of dual camera implementation Xiaomi will opt for in the upcoming device of its most popular series.

Xiaomi could also upgrade its selfie camera from 5-megapixel to 12-megapixel to compete with likes of Vivo and Oppo in offline market. Remaining spec-sheet could look similar to the Redmi Note 4. Xiaomi could offer it in 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage options. On the font, it could feature a 5.5-inch display with full HD IPS display. The Redmi Note 5 in probability feature a 4000 mAh battery.

What Xiaomi actually has in store for us we will only find out when it decides to formally launch it. There is a possibility that Xiaomi launches a Mediatek variant of Redmi Note 5 in China and a Snapdragon version in India. We expect upcoming Redmi Note 5 price to be same as its predecessor. Back home in China, Xiaomi could announce Redmi Note 5 price at RMB 999 for base variant and RMB 1299 for the 4GB variant.

Taking about Xiaomi’s second-biggest market, Redmi Note 5 price In India could be around Rs 12,000.
