Xiaomi Redmi 12 is Launching in India on August 1

After much wait, Xiaomi has finally announced the launch date for Xiaomi Redmi 12 in India. Launching on August 1st, the announcement shows MS Dhoni fame Disha Patani as its style icon. There’s a microsite that has gone live on the Xiaomi India website as well giving a peak into what you can expect with the upcoming handset. Key information about the phone will be release in the coming days on the microsite.

The teaser released on Twitter shows Disha holding the phone clad in a majestic Crystal Glass Design. Redmi 12 will be available in Silver, Midnight Black, and Sky Blue where you can spot the latter in the tweet below.

Since Xiaomi made the announcement with the phone in clear sight, there are some handouts about the design as well. The phone sports a triple rear camera housed in distinct camera bumps with a silver-colored ring on the circumference. The volume rockers go on the right edge while the bottom has a speaker grille and USB Type-C port.

Xiaomi Redmi 12 Specifications

Talking about the specs, we know everything about the device since it made its debut in China last month. The phone sports a 6.79” FHD+ 90Hz panel with an 8MP selfie camera. A 50MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro snapper sit on the back.

We have MediaTek Helio G88 SoC handling the performance alongside Mali-G52 2EEMC2 handles the graphics processing. There’s up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of storage that you can further expand using a hybrid microSD card slot.

The phone has a strong 5,000mAH battery coupled with 18W fast charging tech. Additionally, we have GPS, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v5.3, and a 3.5mm headphone jack among others. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner housed on the power button.
