Xiaomi has taken one of the biggest leaps in its number series with the brand launching Redmi 12 5G and Redmi 12 4G in India. The Redmi 12 5G has made its global debut in the country and will be available in India before the rest of the world. Along with Redmi 12 5G, the brand has also announced Redmi 12 4G smartphone for those who want top-notch specs at super affordable prices.

The sale for both smartphones starts on the 4th of August at 12 Noon via Mi.com, Xiaomi Retail, and Amazon for the 5G model and Flipkart.com for the 4G model. The price given above is net effective prices including bank offers and exchange discounts for existing Xiaomi customers.
Both smartphones come in 3 color variants- Moonstone silver, Pastel Blue and Jade Black.
Redmi 12 5G: Specs
Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 12 5G that is the first ever to be powered by Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset paired with up to 8GB (+8GB Virtual) RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage. It has a crystal glass design with infinite camera deco and Corning Gorilla Glass for display.
It sports a 6.79-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 550 nits brightness, 91% screen-to-body ratio, and 20.5:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone features a 50MP AI triple camera setup at the back with 7 film filters. There is an 8MP selfie camera at the front. Redmi 12 5G is 8.17mm thick and is IP53 rated for splash and dust resistance.
The smartphone packs a 5000mAh battery under the hood with an in-box charger and runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13. Xiaomi has also incorporated some fan-favorite features like a 3.5mm headphone jack, IR Blaster, and MIUI Dialer.
Redmi 12 4G: Specs
The 4G model of the Redmi 12 is powered by MediaTek Helios G88 chipset with up to 6GB (+6GB) RAM and up to 128GB storage. There is a 6.79-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass. The smartphone runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13 and packs a 5000mAh battery with 18W charging. It is IP53 rated and comes with an MIUI dialer, IR Blaster, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
In terms of camera optics, there is a 50MP AI triple camera setup at the back while the Redmi 12 also sports a Crystal Glass design with Infinite camera deco.
