Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its Xiaomi MIX Flip, Xiaomi MIX Fold 4, and Redmi K70 Ultra on July 19, 2024, in mainland China. The MIX Flip will be Xiaomi’s first clamshell foldable, revealed alongside the fourth-generation book-style MIX Fold 4.

Teasers of the MIX Flip reveal an expansive edge-to-edge display with vertically laid dual cameras on the screen. The MIX Flip also has really appealing cover screen wallpapers and, from what we can tell, a new UI for quick app access. There’s also a place for widgets underneath the vertical camera module.

Under the hood, the MIX Flip will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a notable choice as many competitors opt for the 8s Gen 3. Xiaomi has also said that the device will have LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. More importantly, the MIX Flip will have a 3D vapor chamber for cooling, which will significantly help in sustaining the 8 Gen 3’s performance and also keeping the device cool.

The cameras, co-developed with Leica, include a lens with a large aperture, although details about this lens are not much. The secondary lens is expected to be a telephoto zoom lens for close-ups and portraits. Details about the front camera are scarce.

The device will feature a 4780mAh battery, which is larger than the one we have on the biggest competitor, the Galaxy Z Flip6. And yes, the 4” cover screen will offer a 1240p resolution and 1600 Nits brightness, complete with app access, a status bar, and widget placement. Are you excited about the Xiaomi MIX Flip?
