Xiaomi Mi 5X To Launch in India on September 5

Xiaomi’s new handset, dubbed as the Xiaomi Mi 5X, may see the green light on September 5. The company has started sending out the invites for the global launch event of Mi 5X to be held in New Delhi. This will also be Xiaomi’s first dual-camera smartphone in India.

Although the invites didn’t share the name of the phone, we are expecting it to be the Mi 5X. On the invitation, the company only revealed that the phone will come with a Dual-camera setup.

Xiaomi Mi 5X Specifications and Features

At the specs front, the flagship device will be powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked at up to 2GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage, which is expandable to up to 128GB via SD card.

For photography, the Mi 5X will come with a dual rear camera setup where one sensor will be a 12MP wide angle lens and f/2.2 aperture, and another a 12MP telephoto sensor and f/2.6 aperture. On the front, the smartphone features a 5MP camera that comes with real-time beautification setting.

The 5.5-inch display phone will run on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat and house a 3080mAh battery. Connectivity option on the Mi 5X include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Mi 5X was first introduced in China – back in July, in Black, Gold and Pink color options – priced at 1,499 yuan or roughly 14,200 in Indian currency. India price is expected to be close to 15,000 INR.
