The Chinese smartphone manufacturer vivo has launched a new entry-level 5G handset in India: the vivo Y19 5G. With support for a high refresh rate, an octa-core chipset, and expandable storage, the phone could be a go-to choice for those looking to enjoy high-speed connectivity on a budget.

Out of the box, the vivo Y19 5G features a 6.74-inch HD+ LED screen that reaches a peak brightness of 700 nits and supports a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the Dimensity 6300 (6nm) octa-core processor, paired with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.

The phone runs on Functouch OS 15 based on Android 15. However, the brand has clarified the years for which it will be supported. On the back, the phone has a 13MP (f/2.2) primary camera and a 0.08MP (f/3.0) sensor. On the front, there’s a 5MP (f/2.2) selfie shooter.

Despite being a budget phone, the vivo Y19 5G has three AI-based features: AI Eraser, AI Photo Enhance, and AI Documents. Powering the handset is a 5,500 mAh Li-ion battery that supports 15W wired charging. Connectivity features on the handset include 5G, 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.4, and a USB 2.0 port.

Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, expandable virtual RAM, 70% of the NTSC color gamut coverage by the screen, and support for a microSD card (up to 2TB).

The vivo Y19 5G is available at a starting price of Rs. 10,499 for the baseline variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The subsequent variants cost Rs. 11,499 and Rs. 12,999, offering 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, respectively.
