Vivo has made an exciting start to 2018. With Vivo Apex concept phone announcement at MWC 2018 and Vivo X20UD launch in China earlier this year, the company has been making the right sounds. Now, with the upcoming Vivo V9 spotted on billboards in Indonesia, the company seems to be at work for its global launch. What’s is evident from the Vivo V9 hoarding is iPhone X like display notch. It also brags about the Vivo V9’s new 24-megapixel selfie camera.

Vivo V9 What We Know So Far and Expected Features

It is evident from the billboard that Vivo is all set to skip the V8 in favour of the Vivo V9 which will be seen as a successor to the Vivo V7(review)series. The Vivo V9 hoarding was spotted in Pangkal Pinang City in Bangka Island of Indonesia.

If you look at the  Vivo V9 image closely, one thing is clear, it will feature a large display with notch, extremely slim bezels (almost bezel-free) and rounded corners. The display notch believes to feature a 24-megapixel front camera. In its billboard, Vivo has specifically mentioned ‘new’ therefore we expect the Vivo V9 to get a new sensor.

What’s will be really interesting is the placement of fingerprint sensor. Looking at the billboard it is difficult to spot fingerprint sensor. It is likely to be placed either at the Vivo V9 rear end or under the display.

Unfortunately, the Vivo V9 hoarding only a teaser and do not divulge much about its innards. If rumor mills are to be believed, the Vivo V9 will come with a dual camera setup at the rear.

The phone is expected to flaunt a 6.2-inch display. The V9 likely to rope in Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 mobile processor for heavy lifting. Vivo could offer it in a combination of 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. It is expected to come running on Android Oreo out-of-the-box.

Vivo V9 Expected Release Date

Since company’s marketing machinery has started putting out billboards, we expect the Vivo V9 launch to happen really soon, maybe later this month. With two global sporting events – the IPL 2018 and Fifa World cup 2018 – just around the corner Vivo in all probability will be launching Vivo V9 India just before sports season kickstarts. It is worth mentioning here that, Vivo is the title sponsor for both IPL and Fifa World Cup 2018.
