Vivo is back at it again, and this time, it’s not just playing the mid-range game. The new vivo V70 and vivo V70 Elite 5G arrive with flagship-grade displays, massive batteries, and a promise of long-term software support. On paper, they tick almost every box: 120Hz AMOLED screen, up to 5,000 nits brightness, 6,500mAh battery, 90W fast charging, and plenty of RAM and storage.

vivo V70 Specs & Features

Vivo V70 Review

Both the vivo V70 and the vivo V70 Elite feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen (459 ppi) that supports up to 120Hz of refresh rate and 5,000 nits of peak brightness (the high-brightness mode is capped at 1,800 nits).

Under the hood, the V70 Elite features the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 (4nm) chipset. If the name sounds familiar, that’s because it’s the OnePlus Nord 5 5G, iQOO Neo 10R, Xiaomi 14 Civi, and realme GT 6 5G. It’s a pretty reliable chipset, even for gaming, but the fact that it’s available on smartphones at almost half the price is a tad disappointing.

The vivo V70 uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (4nm) SoC, a mid-range chipset. Both the handsets come with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage (the type of memory and storage is found on flagship smartphones, so kudos to vivo for that). It’s worth mentioning that the chipset is the only difference between the Elite and non-Elite handsets.

Vivo V70 Review

Out of the box, the devices run on vivo’s OriginOS 6 user interface, which is based on Android 16. Further, vivo has promised to provide four years of operating system updates and six years of security updates.

vivo’s new smartphones get a 50MP (f/1.88, OIS) primary camera, another 50MP (f/2.7, OIS) sensor paired with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP (f/2.2) ultrawide camera. On the front, buyers get a 50MP (f/2.0, AF) selfie shooter with a 21 mm (wide) field of view. While the primary camera can record 4K60 videos, the selfie camera maxes out at 4K@30.

Both phones are powered by a 6,500 mAh Si/C battery that supports 90W fast wired charging (for a full charge in under 1 hour). Additional features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.4, GPS, a USB Type-C 2.0 port, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and an IP68/IP69 rating.
