Vikramaditya Motwane’s upcoming film ‘2024’ to be shot on OnePlus 9 Pro

When the OnePlus 9 Pro was released, everyone talked about the upgrades it received in the camera department, due to the partnership it did with legendary camera brand Hassleband. Now, we will get to see the actual performance of its camera setup as a movie is all set to be shot on it.

OnePlus and popular filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane’s Andolan Production along with Big Bad Wolf Studios and the ODD and Even Productions has come up with a movie titled ‘2024’ that will be shot entirely on OnePlus 9 Pro. ‘2024’ will be a 60-minute action thriller that will be filmed using only OnePlus 9 Pro 5G smartphone.

Camera setup in OnePlus 9 Pro 5G

The smartphone features 4 cameras- a 48MP wide, a 50MP ultra-wide, an 8MP 3.3x telephoto, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. It has a 16MP front camera too.

The main camera uses a Sony IMX789 sensor that was made in collaboration with Sony. The 50MP ultra-wide camera uses a Sony IMX766 sensor. 8MP telephoto lens can shoot at up to 3x optical zoom while the OnePlus 9 Pro also comes with 8k video recording at 30fps and 4k video at 120fps.

OnePlus partnered with camera specialist Hassleband which has improved the color tuning of its photographs. The clicks are in much cooler and naturalistic tones, which was previously seen only in iPhone cameras.

“With the feature film being entirely shot on our flagship OnePlus 9 Pro 5G, we are delighted to showcase the exceptional camera quality of our flagship devices that offers more accurate colors and premium image quality to users,” Navnit Nakra, India CEO and Head of India Region, OnePlus India, said at the announcement event.

He further added, “ ‘Shot on OnePlus’ has been one of the most successful photography and videography initiatives that we undertook. And it continues to hold a very special place in the hearts of our community.”

About the movie ‘2024’

Vikramaditya Motwane is a Bollywood director famous for his edgy and thought-provoking content. As a screenwriter, he has movies like Dev D to his credit while his directorial debut was ‘Udaan’ followed by films like period romance ‘Lootera’ and survival drama ‘Trapped’.

Motwane is the creator of Netflix’s first Indian series Sacred Games followed by AK vs AK.

True to his trait, ‘2024’ is the story of four youngsters who grow up together in an orphanage in Dharavi as they struggle to survive in a dystopian environment resulting from a mutating virus. The movie fuses the experiences that one endured during the pandemic.

The film is a straight-to-the-OTT- release and will stream on Disney+Hotstar from November 23.
