As May 2024 approaches, the Indian smartphone market is abuzz with anticipation for the launch of several exciting new devices. From budget-friendly options to high-end flagships and even foldables, there’s something for everyone on the horizon. Let’s look at some of the most anticipated smartphones to debut in India next month.

1. Motorola E14

The Motorola E14 is a minor upgrade over its predecessor, the Motorola E13. It offers basic features at an affordable price point. It is expected to be priced around INR 6,000 to 7,000 in India. 

The phone’s Unisoc T606 processor powers it. It features a 6.5″ HD+ display with a 90 Hz refresh rate. The 5000 mAh battery supports 20W fast charging. The device sports a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera.

2. iQOO Z9X

The iQOO Z9X is expected to be a rebranded version of the Vivo T3X, with the main difference being its availability. While the Vivo counterpart will only be available on Flipkart, the iQOO Z9X will be available on Amazon. The pricing is expected to be similar, with the 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant priced at around INR 13,499. 

A Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor powers the phone and features a 6.72″ 120 Hz IPS LCD screen. It is equipped with a 6000 mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging. The iQOO Z9X sports a 50 MP + 2 MP dual rear camera setup and an 8 MP front camera.

3. Galaxy M35

The Galaxy M35, recently spotted on the support page, is expected to be priced around INR 18,000 for the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant. It features the Exynos 1380 processor and boasts a 108 MP camera along with a 6.6″ 120 Hz AMOLED screen. The device is powered by a 6000 mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging. Additionally, it offers a 50 MP triple camera setup with OIS.

4. Vivo V30e

It will feature a 50 MP primary camera paired with an 8 MP ultra-wide and 50 MP front camera. The device will be powered by a 5500 mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. The Vivo V30e is expected to be priced around INR 27,000 to 30,000.

5. Galaxy F55

The Galaxy F55 is expected to be the first Samsung phone with a vegan leather back. It will be a rebadged version of the Galaxy M55, which launched in India on April 8. The phone is expected to be driven by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, which will likely be coupled with 8 GB of RAM. It is said to feature a 6.7″ FHD+ display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits of peak brightness. 

It will run on Android 14 based on One UI 6.0 software. The camera setup includes a 50 MP OIS primary shooter, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2 MP macro lens. 

For selfies, there will be a 50 MP front camera. The phone will pack a 5000 mAh battery with support for either 45W or 25W fast wired charging. The Galaxy F55 is expected to be priced under INR 30,000 in India.

The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is expected to feature a 6.7″ POLED screen with 144 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1600 nits, protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. Moto will likely offer a 50 MP OIS primary camera, a 13 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32 MP selfie camera. 

The phone will come with stereo speakers, a display fingerprint scanner, and a 5000 mAh battery with 68W fast wired charging support. It is expected to be priced around INR 25,000 in India and compete with phones like the OnePlus Nord CE4, Nothing Phone (2a), Redmi Note 13 Pro, POCO X6 Pro, and Realme 12 Pro.

The Google Pixel 8a is expected to feature a 6.1″ 1080p OLED screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate and 1400 nits of brightness. It will be powered by the Tensor G3 processor, along with 8 GB of RAM paired with 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. The phone will boast a 64 MP + 13 MP rear camera setup and a 13 MP front camera. 

It will have a 4500 mAh battery that supports 27W wired charging and 7.5W wireless charging. The Pixel 8a is rumored to receive up to 7 OS updates and will run on Android 14. It is expected to be launched at Google I/O on May 14, 2024, with a leaked price of around INR 45,000 in India.

8. OnePlus Nord 4

The OnePlus Nord 4 is expected to launch in India in mid-May, following its counterpart, the OnePlus Ace 3V, which has already been released in China. It will feature a 6.74″ flat OLED screen with 1.5K resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and 2150 nits peak brightness. 

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset will power the phone. It is likely to come with either 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It will house a 5,500 mAh battery and support up to 100W SuperVOOC charging. 

The OnePlus Nord 4 will sport a 50 MP primary camera with OIS, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera on the rear, and a 16 MP front camera. It will ship with OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14 and will feature a design similar to the recently launched OnePlus Nord CE 4.

9. realme GT Neo 6 SE

The Realme GT Neo 6 SE, already launched in China, is expected to be released in India in mid-May. It will be the first GT series device to be launched in India in a long time. The phone will feature a 6.74″ OLED screen with 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset, built on 4nm fabrication by TSMC. 

The device will be available in variants with 8 GB, 12 GB, or 16 GB of RAM paired with 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The camera setup will include a 50 MP 1/1.95″ OIS sensor paired with an 8 MP ultra-wide with a 112° FOV and a 32 MP selfie camera capable of shooting 4K video at 30fps. 

It will also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 5500 mAh battery, and 100W fast-wired charging. The Realme GT Neo 6 SE is expected to be priced at around INR 35,000 in India.

10. POCO F6

The POCO F6 is slated to launch in May 2024, following the May 2023 launch of its predecessor, the POCO F5. It will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 3, recently launched in China, with some camera upgrades. 

The POCO F6 will feature a 50 MP Sony IMX920 primary lens, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens (Sony IMX355), and a 20 MP OmniVision OV20B40 selfie camera. 

The phone will sport a 6.67” AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, it will offer up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. 

The device will pack a 5500 mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging (exact specs for the Indian variant are yet to be confirmed). Running on HyperOS 1.0 out of the box, the Poco F6 is expected to be priced at around INR 35,000 in India.

11. Vivo X Fold 3

The Vivo X Fold 3, launched in China a few weeks ago along with the Fold 3 Pro, will debut outside China, specifically in India. It is scheduled for a mid-May launch and will be the company’s first foldable phone in India. 

The Vivo X Fold 3 is one of the thinnest foldable phones on the market. It features an 8.03″ display when unfolded and a 6.53″ cover display, with the same 4500 nits of peak brightness and 120 Hz refresh rate.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, the phone runs on Android 14 based on Funtouch OS 14. It is equipped with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and offers up to 1 TB of storage (though the 1 TB model’s availability in India is unlikely). 

The Vivo X Fold 3 boasts a stellar camera setup, including a 50 MP OIS primary camera, a 50 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultra-wide lens with AF. It also features Zeiss Optics and Zeiss T* lens coating. The phone has a 32 MP front camera on both the cover and main displays.

With a 5500 mAh battery, the Vivo X Fold 3 supports 80W wired and reverse wireless charging. It is expected to be priced at around INR 1,00,000 in India, positioning it as one of the top choices among foldable smartphones.

The Infinix GT 20 Pro is expected to come with the Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chipset and will be available in a 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variant. It features a 6.78″ AMOLED screen with a 1080p resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate. The device has a 108 MP OIS camera and a 32 MP front camera for selfies. It is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. 

The GT 20 Pro will run on Android 14 based on XOS 14 and offer a 2 + 3 update policy. Additional features include an in-display fingerprint sensor and dual speakers with JBL sound. The Infinix GT 20 Pro is expected to be priced around INR 20,000 to 23,000 in India.
