Thomson Launches Three New Smart TVs In India; Prices Starts From Rs. 13,490

French Consumer Electronic brand, Thomson, announced a slew of smart TVs – 43-inch UHD 4K, 40-inch, and 32-inch, in India. All the three televisions will be locally manufactured by Super Plastronics Pvt. Ltd. (SPPL) as part of the licensing agreement between the two firms.

Highlights of Thomson TV

  • The 43-inch 4K UHD Thomson TV has been priced at Rs. 27,999.
  • The 40-inch Thomson TV retails at Rs. 19,990.
  • The 32-inch Thomson smart TV price is Rs. 13,490.

Thomson 43-inch UHD 4K, 40-inch, 32-inch Smart TVs Specifications

The major difference between all the three Television sets is their display size and resolution. Starting with Thomson 43-inch UHD 4K TV, bearing model name 43TM4377 sports an LG IPS display with 3940X 2160 resolution and is the premium smart TV in the lot.

The other two TVs – 40-inch and 32-inch, features a Samsung LED-backlit displays with full HD and HD resolution, respectively.

The Thomson TVs are powered by ARM Cortex-A7 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB flash storage. They run Android 4.4.4 Kitkat version, except the Thomson 40-inch TV which has Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Other specifications of Thomson smart TVs include pre-loaded APKs of Gmail, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Netflix, two 10W speaker, and connectivity options like WiFi, LAN, Cast, 2X AV IN, 2X USB, 3X HDMI port, and 1 PC Audio IN.

The Thomson TVs will go on sale in the country via Flipkart. The first flash sale will begin at 12PM IST on Friday, April 13. The products are priced aggressively at an affordable budget and set to take other TV brands such as Micromax, VU, and Xiaomi in the Indian Market.

Super Plastronics, CEO, Avneet Singh Marwah, said the company expects to capture 6-7% share of the market and make Thomson the largest online smart TV brand in India.

“We have planned to put one more manufacturing line of LED TV by next-quarter. While technology and innovation remains the same, we have worked on many aspects of the TV keeping in mind the Indian choice for aesthetics, colour and sound,” he said.
