Tecno Pova 8 Launches in India with 8,000 mAh Battery and Alive Matrix Display

Tecno has launched the Pova 8 in India, bringing a large 8,000 mAh battery, a 144Hz display, and a rear-facing Alive Matrix Display to the mid-range segment. The device will be available in two storage variants, with sales beginning on June 18 through Tecno’s official channels, Amazon, Flipkart, and retail stores.

Tecno Pova 8 Specifications

The Pova 8 features a 6.76-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 950 nits HBM. Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

The phone packs an 8,000 mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging. It runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box. Tecno promises 2 major OS updates and 3 years of security updates. 

The Pova 8 uses a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor as its primary rear camera. On the front, it features a 13MP selfie camera.

Alive Matrix Display

A key part of the Pova 8’s design is the Alive Matrix Display integrated into the rear camera module. The dot-matrix LED panel can show notifications, charging status, battery information, gaming effects, and user-customized animations. The device also adopts a transparent-style rear design with a glass-like finish.

Availability

Tecno has opened pre-orders for the Pova 8 ahead of its first sale on June 18. The smartphone will be available through Tecno’s website, Amazon, Flipkart, and offline retail partners across India.
