Samsung’s introduction of the Galaxy S24 Series last year came with enhancements to Galaxy AI, alongside the announcement that these features would not remain free indefinitely. The company indicated that Galaxy AI would be complimentary until 2025, suggesting the possibility of a paid subscription thereafter. Currently, it appears that Samsung is preparing to launch a subscription model referred to as the “AI Subscription Club” for Galaxy devices, although its structure may differ from common expectations.

The latest report from ETNews claims that Samsung’s Vice Chair Hang Jong-hee has confirmed during a press conference held as a part of CES 2025, that AI Subscription Club will soon be coming to Galaxy devices. For those who haven’t heard of this model, AI Subscription Club was announced in South Korea in December 2024 for some of the brand’s home appliances. Samsung is now all set to apply it to not only Galaxy smartphones but also to Ballie AI which is being showcased during CES 2025. This AI Companion robot will be launched in the first half of 2025, and you can click here to know more about it.

“We will apply the subscription service to Galaxy smartphones starting next month,” Jong-hee says. “Ballie will be introduced first in Korea and the US, and we plan to supply it as a subscription in Korea.”

What does the AI Subscription Club entail?

The name AI Subscription Club is misleading as this one isn’t a subscription plan specifically for Galaxy AI. It is more of a monthly installment plan for hardware with some after-sales maintenance services included. Those who purchase it will be able to use it to lower the upfront price of a Galaxy device.

As of now, it isn’t clear if Samsung will extend the plans outside South Korea or not, but reports claim it will come to the US if it is successful. The subscription will be applied to all the Galaxy devices starting in February 2025 which isn’t too far from Galaxy S25 Series sale dates. Currently, it gives consumers in Korea the ability to sign up for a monthly subscription to their AI-powered home appliances like washing machines, refrigerators, and more. It includes repair and maintenance services lowering the upfront cost of appliances.

Meanwhile, pre-reservation for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Series has already begun in India. Those interested can pre-book their Galaxy S25 device by paying a token amount of Rs. 1999. To learn more about the pre-booking method, click here.
