Less than two months from today, Samsung will debut its next-gen Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 at its July Unpacked event. Well, this doesn’t count the supposed launch of Galaxy Z Fold6 or Z Fold6 Ultra probably in line to launch early next year sharing the stage with Samsung Galaxy S25 Series.

According to Ross Young on X (formerly Twitter), the upcoming Z Fold6 could be slimmer than the regular Z Fold6. One of the names for the purported device is Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim. As the name suggests, it will be slimmer than the regular Fold and thus, the name.

The Fold6 Slim may not be much different from the Galaxy Z Fold6. The South Korean giant is expected to omit the digitizer layer on-board that gives devices the ability to take stylus input aka no S Pen support on the Z Fold6 Slim. Doing so will help Samsung get a slimmer profile on Z Fold6 Slim although other specifications are likely to remain untouched.

As the timeline suggests, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 will arrive this July. This will be followed by Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim in January or February 2025 alongside the Galaxy S25 series. If you don’t see a ‘Slim’ variant launch look out for ‘Z Fold6 Ultra’ which is probably the same device with a different moniker. Additionally, it could be slightly more expensive than the vanilla Galaxy Z Fold6 although the prices are yet to be known.
