TL; DR
- The Galaxy S25 Slim is impressively thin at 6.4mm, making it one of Samsung’s thinnest phones yet.
- It boasts a triple-camera setup, a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a flat frame, and a flat screen.
- The device is expected to launch in May 2025.
In a world where smartphones are continuously getting thinner while also managing to pack in larger batteries (thanks to innovations like silicon-carbon batteries), the trend seems to be shifting towards ultra-slim devices. While some brands are focusing on battery size, Samsung is here to show us what happens when you prioritize slimness.
We’ve already seen the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition, which was noticeably thinner than the regular Z Fold 6. But now, Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy S25 Slim, and it might just be one of the thinnest phones we’ve ever seen from Samsung. It has been in leaks for quite some time, but now Smartprix presents to you the high-quality 5K renders of the same, in collaboration with OnLeaks. Let’s dive in.
A Sleek Peek at the Slimness of the Galaxy S25 Slim

The Galaxy S25 Slim is remarkably thin. At just 6.4mm, this phone is extremely slim. Even with the camera module included, it’s only 8.3mm thick—when some phones are already 8mm to 10mm thick without the camera module.

To put it into perspective, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be around 8.2mm thick without the camera bump, while the Galaxy S25 Slim is just 6.4mm thin without, and 8.3mm with the camera bump included. Very impressive. The screen size (measured diagonally) would be approximately 6.7 inches to 6.8 inches.

In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy S25 Slim will measure approximately 159 x 76 x 6.4mm. For comparison, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to measure 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2mm. This means the S25 Slim will be 1.6mm narrower, 3.8mm shorter, and 1.8mm thinner than the Ultra. It’s clear that Samsung is going all-in on slimness with this device.

As seen in the renders, the phone will come with a triple rear camera setup, a metal frame, and a glass back. The design and the camera arrangement largely follows the S25 series’ design language. As for the bezels, they’re going to be razor-thin, just like what we’ll see on the Galaxy S25 and S25+.
The power button and volume rockers are flat, contributing to the overall sleek look with the flat frame. On the bottom, there’s a single speaker grille, USB-C port, and a microphone. The screen is also flat, just like the rest of the S25 lineup.
Previously, the Galaxy A8 held the title of the slimmest Samsung phone at 4.9mm. However, it came with a significantly smaller battery at just 3050mAh. In comparison, the Galaxy S25 Slim will sport a much larger battery and also much more advanced internals.

Cameras and SoC
On the back, you’ll find the three-camera rings, which, as per the recent leaks, suggest a 200MP HP5 main camera, a 50MP JN5 ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5X optical zoom.

Samsung is also expected to use its new ALoP (All Lenses on Prism) design for the 3.5X telephoto lens, which arranges the lenses in front of the prism rather than behind it. This design should help the S25 Slim remain “slim” while offering long-range optical zoom.
Under the hood, the S25 Slim is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with 12 GB of RAM and running Android 15 with One UI 7 on top.
Recent Geekbench leaks show scores of 3005 in single-core and 6945 in multi-core, but keep in mind that these scores are from a pre-release unit, so they may change before the final release.

Launching in May
As for the launch date, the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to arrive in May 2025. While it may be showcased at the Unpacked event on January 22nd alongside the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, it is unlikely to be released at that time. The launch is more likely to happen in May, with the possibility of a preview during the event.
With Apple rumored to release their own ultra-thin iPhone Air, Samsung is stepping up with the S25 Slim, which will borrow many features from the Galaxy S25 Ultra but in a much slimmer package. So, what do you think about the Galaxy S25 Slim? Let us know in the comments below.
