Samsung unveils Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Watch 4 series

At the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung has debuted Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Watch 4 series. While the buds have gotten more affordable while still endowing improved ANC, driver system, etc., the Watch 4 series come wielding the new Wear OS 3 based One UI Watch software, and more health and fitness features. Also launched are the new foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, which you can learn about in detail in another article.

Galaxy Buds 2 Specs

Galaxy Buds 2 has been launched in four colors – Graphite grey, Lavender, Olive, and White. It has 3 mics on each side as well as active noise cancellation (ANC up to 110.36hz) and ambient mode. Galaxy Buds are also protected from water with IPX7 certification. Inside, these include an 11mm woofer and 6.5mm tweeter.

They connect over Bluetooth 5.2 and boast a new machine learning-based solution for better call clarity.

Buds bear a 61mAh battery while the case holds 472mAh of juice. These can give you about 20 hours of battery backup with ANC and 29 hours of battery backup without ANC. Charging cases are capable of charging buds thrice in full and will also have Qi wireless charging support. In addition, you have been given IPX7-rated for water and dust resistance, support, and some other sensors (accelerometer, proximity sensor, etc.).

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Series Specs

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 will have a Samsung and Google co-designed One UI Watch operating system (based on Wear OS 3). Galaxy Watch 4 will have two variants – 40mm and 44mm while there are 2 variants of Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 4 viz. 22mm and 46mm.

Both smartwatches will come in two different dial sizes. The Galaxy Watch 4 40mm and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 42mm sport a 1.2-inch AMOLED screen with a 396×396 resolution. On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch 4 44mm and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46mm models house a 1.4-inch (450×450 pixels) AMOLED panel.

The fitness features include the proprietary Bioactive sensor for tracking PPG, ECG, and BIA (in 15 secs it records 2400 data points), sleep tracking with snoring detection, etc.

Galaxy Watch 4 has a 247mAh battery, while Galaxy Watch 4 Classic you will get a 361mAh battery. Both run on Exynos W920 5nm processor, internal storage of 16GB, and RAM of 1.5GB.

In addition, Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic will be protected from water at depths of up to 50 meters (5ATM) with IP68 certification. Other highlights include Gorilla Glass DX protection, Rotating bezel, Gesture control, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G LTE (optional), and dual-band Wi-Fi.

  • Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 – 149.99 euros (approximately Rs. 13,000)
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch 40mm – 279 euros (approximately Rs. 24,300)
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch 44mm – 309 euros (approximately Rs. 27,300)
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch Classic 42mm – 379 euros (approximately Rs. 33,500)
  • Samsung Galaxy Watch classic 46mm – 409 euros (approximately Rs. 36,000)\

They will go on sale starting August 27th.
