Most recently, disappointing reports about the Galaxy S25 series surfaced on the internet. Apparently, Samsung won’t upgrade the battery capacity of the models in the Galaxy S25 series, which includes the regular Galaxy S25, the Galaxy S25 Plus, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra (rumors roundup). However, with a more powerful processor and AI-based features, the battery consumption on those devices could increase.

What Is Battery AI?
To counter the increased battery consumption, Samsung could be developing a new AI-based feature called “Battery AI.” Most recently, the company revealed a feature called AI Energy Mode for its Bespoke AI Appliances, which helps decrease the energy consumption in electric appliances. Battery AI could do the same thing for Samsung’s flagships.
According to the source (Wfcctech), the Battery AI feature on the Galaxy S25 models might save five to ten percent of battery life. Although this is not a huge improvement, it could still compensate for the lack of hardware upgrades (which might have increased the battery capacity by a similar number).

How Will Battery AI Prolong The Galaxy S25’s Usage Time?
The tipster, however, didn’t mention how Battery AI would save the battery. Most smartphones, whether an Android mid-ranger or a flagship (and even the iPhones), come with a battery saver mode. It works by limiting the phone’s functionality, such as disconnecting from high-speed networks, restricting background app usage, dimming the screen’s brightness, etc.
The Battery AI feature could work similarly, except it could introduce machine learning into the mix. We believe the feature could limit background activity based on usage patterns to prolong battery life. For example, it could track what specific apps people use for a certain duration and restrict the activity for others.
The Feature Could Be A Part Of Upcoming Galaxy AI Features
However, this is just a conjecture, and we’re yet to know how Battery AI works. Nonetheless, it could be a part of the second big launch for Galaxy AI, which currently includes features like Circle to Search, Live Translate, generative AI-based photo edits, text summarization, and so on. In the absence of a larger battery, Battery AI would be a must-have feature in Samsung’s upcoming flagships.
