As India goes under lockdown and people resort to Work From Home, the internet demand sees an unprecedented surge. In such a situation, telecom operators are rejigging their existing plan composition and introducing new tailormade plans. India’s largest telecom company, Jio is here with a 2GB data per day plan for Rs. 251.

TLDR, here’s the Jio ‘Work From Home’ plan details –

  • You get 2GB data per day up to a total of 120GB
  • If you exhaust that limit, then the internet speed is reduced to 64kbps.
  • Validity for 51 days
  • This plan is devoid of any calling or SMS benefits.
  • The plan charge is Rs. 251

Reliance Jio Work From Home plan: How is it different from Jio’s current plans?

So, you get to enjoy 2GB of high-speed 4G data every day under this prepaid plan. And in total, you will have 120GB in your kitty. Still, if you manage to go overboard, then the speed will fall back to 64kbps. The plan validity will be for 51 days. And do note that this is a data-only pack, without any voice or SMS benefits.

Au contraire, Jio has another 2GB/day (120GB in total) plan for a 56 days validity. The plan ingredients are different, save for the 2GB daily limit. But in that plan, you get unlimited Jio to Jio calls (Jio to Non-Jio – 2000 mins), 100 SMS/day and complimentary Jio apps validity.

You can have a look at other popular Jio plans here for reference. So, if Data is your priority, which most probably is at present, this is a plan worth considering.

Additionally, Jio has also upped the data benefits in most of its 4G top-up vouchers. Here, have a look –

4G Data Voucher New Benefits
Rs. 11800MB data + 75 mins Jio to Non-Jio
Rs. 212GB data + 200 mins Jio to Non-Jio
Rs. 516GB data + 500 mins Jio to Non-Jio
Rs. 10112GB data + 1000 mins Jio to Non-Jio

Note:

  • These above data booster packs follow the base plan validity.
  • Once you use up the high-speed data, the speed plummets to 64kbps.

Now that Jio has introduced one, we expect Airtel and Vodafone-Idea to follow the suit.
