Indian telecom giant Reliance Jio has hiked the prices of its prepaid plans with bundled Netflix subscriptions. The hike ranges from 18 to 20%, depending on the chosen plan. Here’s a complete breakdown of the increase in price, the benefits, and the type of Netflix subscription included.

The Rs. 1,099 prepaid recharge plan now costs Rs. 1,299. That accounts for a Rs. 200 hike. Included in the plan is Netflix’s Mobile subscription, 2GB of high-speed 5G data per day (total of 168 GB), 100 SMS/day, and unlimited voice calls. Users also get access to the free version of JioCinema, JioTV, and JioCloud. The prepaid plan is valid for 84 days.

For those catching up, Netflix’s Mobile subscription costs Rs. 149 per month if bought separately. It streams content at a maximum resolution of 480p, “fair” video and sound quality, supports mobile phones and tablets, and allows one device to stream at a time.

The Rs. 1,499 prepaid recharge plan now costs Rs. 1,799, which accounts for a hike of Rs. 300. It offers Netflix’s Basic subscription, 3GB of high-speed 5G data per day (total of 252 GB), 100 SMS/day, and unlimited voice calls. Other complementary subscriptions, such as JioTV, JioCinema, and JioCloud, are also a part of the Rs. 1,799 recharge plan. Like the Rs. 1,299 plan, this plan is also valid for 84 days.

Netflix’s Basic subscription allows viewers to stream in 720p (HD) resolution, provides “good” sound quality, and supports TV, computer, mobile phone, and tablet. However, even the Basic plan allows only one user to view at a time.
