Realme Smart TV was scheduled for global unveiling at the Mobile World Congress 2019, which had to be scrapped due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Post cancellation of the mega exhibition event, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth confirmed that the company will launch its first Smart TV in India in Q2,2020.

Realme seems to be in track for a Q2 launch, as despite the countrywide lockdown Realme continues sort required certification for its upcoming Smart TV. Post the BIS website listing, the Realme TV remote control has been spotted at the Bluetooth SIG site which is the governing body for Bluetooth approvals.

As per the Bluetooth certified site, the Realme TV remote carries model number RTRC1 and it is certified for a Bluetooth 5.0 device. While not much intel about the Realme TV is mentioned on the Bluetooth certification site, it does indicate Realme is inching towards the launch.

Realme TV launch In India: Expectations

The coronavirus pandemic has jeopardized launch plans for consumer tech brands. Before the COVID 19 lockdown, the Realme TV was expected to launch in India in April, but since everything is almost stagnant at this point of we expect the Realme TV launch to be pushed back by a few weeks at least.

Since almost all e-commerce activities are in the suspended mode, we don’t expect the Realme TV launch to happen before second half of May.
