TL; DR
  • realme has partnered with Warner Bros. to launch a Harry Potter-themed realme 16 Pro 5G in India.
  • This follows the brand’s earlier Game of Thrones Limited Edition on the realme 15 Pro.
  • Pricing, full specifications, and exact availability details are still unrevealed.

Realme has just confirmed that a Harry Potter-themed edition of the realme 16 Pro 5G is headed to India and other global markets. Of course, the company has struck a licensing deal with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. However, it’s only a partnership announcement for now; there’s no launch date.

A Pattern Realme Has Clearly Committed To

For those catching up, this isn’t realme’s first collaboration with entertainment brands or production houses. Last year, the company launched a Game of Thrones Limited Edition for the Realme 15 Pro. The Harry Potter tie-up feels like a continuation of the same strategy rather than something new.

Like the last limited edition model, we should expect Realme to add franchise-specific visual elements to the phone’s design and software, along with a co-branded logo on promotional materials and the retail box.

What We Don’t Know Yet

A lot. Realme hasn’t confirmed pricing, the release date, or even the full specs for this edition. For now, only the concept and the collaboration are confirmed. More details should be out soon.

Realme’s CMO Chase Xu framed the collaboration around making “technology more joyful and meaningful.” In my opinion, announcing the collaboration while holding back on pricing or specs (which may be mostly unchanged) is a strategy. It lets the brand ride on the initial wave of excitement on social media platforms, gauge the initial response to the announcement, and price the phone accordingly.
