The OPPO Reno13 series is set to make its Indian debut on January 9 at 5 PM, following its initial launch in China in December 2024. The lineup includes two smartphones, the Reno13 and Reno13 Pro, both packed with AI-powered features, Dimensity 8350, and interesting cameras.
AI-Based Imaging Features
The Reno13 series introduces several AI photography features, including AI Live Photo, AI Clarity Enhancer, AI Unblur, AI Reflection Remover, and AI Eraser 2.0. All these tools are to simplify photo editing while delivering professional-quality results. For instance, AI Live Photo captures 1.5 seconds of video before and after the shutter press, ensuring you don’t miss key moments.
The AI Clarity Enhancer provides sharp details even at higher zoom levels, while AI Unblur restores clarity to blurry images. Other features, such as the AI Reflection Remover and AI Eraser 2.0, help eliminate unwanted distractions from photos.

The Reno13 series also focuses on portraits, with features like AI Night Portrait and AI Clear Face, giving you detailed and natural-looking images even in low light. Generative AI technology further enhances group photos by refining facial details and correcting closed eyes with its AI Best Face feature.
The OPPO Reno13 series also features the AI Studio app, which uses a proprietary large language model (LLM) for two new features—AI Reimagine and AI Motion. AI Reimage will allow you to transform your photos with over 20 templates, including classic painting styles, cartoons, and drawings. Meanwhile, AI Motion can turn these still images into animated live photos.

Productivity AI Features
Beyond imaging, the Reno13 series uses AI for productivity. Tools like AI Summary, AI Writer, and Screen Translator will be available on the OPPO Reno13 series. Integrated with Google Gemini LLM, the series will offer features like AI Reply for contextual messaging and AI Rewrite too. Additionally, the OPPO Reno13 series will feature Circle to Search too.
Cameras
The Reno13 series also has a heavy focus on the cameras. The Reno13 Pro will feature a triple camera setup: 50 MP Sony IMX890 main sensor, a 50 MP JN5 telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom (120x digital), and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens with a 115-degree field of view.
It also uses AI to maintain sharpness at zoom levels 30x and beyond. Then, both the Reno13 and Reno13 Pro come equipped with a 50 MP front camera, which is the Samsung JN5. Both can shoot in 4K from the front and rear cameras.
The Reno13 features the 50 MP Sony IMX882 main camera. OPPO has also added a “tri-microphone system” and “Audio Zoom” for great audio quality on the Reno13 series.

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350
Both devices in the Reno13 series are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 SoC, fabricated using TSMC’s 4 nm process. Per OPPO, the chipset offers significant improvements in AI performance and power efficiency.
OPPO says that its advanced NPU enables faster generative AI processing and seamless integration with the AI imaging tools that we discussed in the first segment. Here’s what the chipset offers:
- 3.3x AI performance boost over “previous generations.”
- Support for up to 10 billion parameter LLMs.
- 8x faster generative AI processing and 2x improvement in compute tasks.
- An AnTuTu score of 1.4 million.
Gaming is powered by the Mali-G615 GPU, giving you a 60% peak performance boost and 55% greater efficiency (presumably over the Dimensity 7300 Energy). The chipset also works seamlessly with OPPO’s proprietary HyperTone Engine for better image quality.
Also, OPPO’s proprietary AI Linkboost ensures efficient data usage for messaging and media sharing, while BeaconLink will offer one-to-one voice calls over Bluetooth in non-network areas, such as basements or remote venues.
Launch and Pricing
The OPPO Reno13 series will officially launch in India on January 9 at 5 PM. While the pricing details remain under wraps, we can expect the same pricing as last year. Stay tuned for updates and availability.
