The chief marketing officer of Oppo India, Damyant Singh Khanoria, has decided to leave the company. He joined the Indian wing of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer in December 2020 and reported directly to the president of Oppo India, Elvis Zhou.
Oppo Has Launched Several Successful Lineups In The Last Three Years
Under Khanoria, Oppo India released several popular handsets, including Oppo F19, F21, A93, Reno 10, Find N2 and N3 Flip phones. The brand’s market share also rose from nine percent in Q4 2021 to 12 percent in Q1 2023. Although unclear, the fall in shipments in the recent quarters might have influenced the CMO’s resignation.
It is a tad odd that the CMO stepped down right before the launch of the Reno 11 series on January 12, 2024. The lineup will consist of two smartphones: the Reno 11 and the Reno 11 Pro.
In the past, Khanoria has worked in companies like Adidas and Apple. However, it isn’t known where the executive will head next.
