Oppo was one of the first companies to showcase a foldable smartphone in 2019. Ever since then, nothing had been heard from the brand about this. However now, in a recent leak, we get to see a few patented images of the said Oppo foldable phone. This only gives us the ostensible design of the device and suggests a closer launch.

Well, this falls in line with some rumors that the Oppo Fold (or whatever its name will be) is likely to debut this November. But, nothing’s confirmed as of now, and let’s not get ahead of ourselves and take a look at what we have.

Oppo Fold Design and Details

A new patent filed for a foldable smartphone by Oppo has been spotted on CNIPA and the images will remind you of the prototype that the company showed back in 2019.

The images above show how Oppo’s first foldable phone could look like. The power button and the volume up/down buttons are on the right side of the device. These could not be placed on the left as that’s perhaps where the device’s exterior display would be. The smartphone is expected to have an external folding display like the one seen in Huawei’s Mate X Series.

Oppo Fold is expected to have a vertical camera module and the size hints of a triple camera setup. In the patented images, we can see the SIM tray at the top while the bottom part has a USB Type-C charging port and speaker.

Although the images that have surfaced resemble the prototype shown by the company before, one year is a long time and the final design could have undergone some changes too. So it is suggested to take things with a slight grain of salt till Oppo itself announces things.
