Samsung might be ready to take folding phones to the next level. The long-rumored Galaxy Z TriFold, the company’s first smartphone with a triple-folding design, could debut as early as December 5, according to new leaks. This next-gen foldable is expected to outshine the Galaxy Z Fold 7 not just in design, but also in battery capacity, display brightness, and overall engineering finesse.

Leaked Galaxy Z Trifold specs hint at a major leap in design and display

Tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) has revealed a detailed spec sheet for the Galaxy Z TriFold, suggesting that Samsung is going all-in on innovation. The upcoming device is said to feature a 6.5-inch outer screen capable of hitting 2,600 nits peak brightness, along with a massive 10-inch inner display that offers up to 1,600 nits.

The phone’s three segments or “leaves” reportedly measure 3.9mm, 4mm, and 4.2mm in thickness. That could make it even slimmer than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which unfolds to 4.2mm at its thinnest point.

Under the hood, the Z TriFold is tipped to run on Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon chipset and feature a 200-megapixel primary camera on the rear.

Galaxy Z Trifold’s battery life could be a major upgrade

Battery capacity appears to be one of the biggest improvements this time around. Early reports mention a 5,437mAh unit, while newer leaks suggest a slightly larger 5,600mAh battery, a significant jump from the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh.

The device is expected to support 25W wired fast charging, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, and Wireless PowerShare, letting users charge accessories like Galaxy Buds or a smartwatch on the go.

Galaxy Z Trifold is a showcase of Samsung’s engineering power

According to Korean media, Samsung isn’t necessarily expecting record sales from the Z TriFold. Instead, the company plans to ship around 20,000–30,000 units, using the product as a showcase of its technological leadership in the foldable category.

The expected price is around KRW 4.4 million (approximately ₹2.66 lakh), placing it firmly in ultra-premium territory.

From APEC debut to global anticipation

Samsung first teased the TriFold concept at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2025 event, sparking speculation about its eventual commercial release. With the rumored December launch now approaching, all eyes are on how Samsung plans to make the triple-fold a reality and whether it can convince buyers that this futuristic design is more than a flex.
