Oppo has launched an entry-level smartphone in the Indian market called Oppo A59 5G. It takes after the Oppo A58 5G, which came sometime last year. The handset has a 90Hz screen, an octa-core processor, and a 5,000 mAh battery. Here’s everything you need to know about the smartphone’s design, specifications, and price.

Oppo A59 5G Design

The smartphone is available in two colors: Silk Gold and Starry Black. While the former has a textured back panel, the latter has a matte finish on the back panel. On the front, users get a punch-hole cutout at the center of the screen, which has the front camera. The smartphone has symmetrical bezels on three sides, while a thick chin is visible toward the bottom of the screen.

Oppo A59 5G Specifications

Out of the box, the Oppo A59 5G comes with a 6.56-inch LCD screen that supports 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 720 nits. The handset also has a screen-to-body ratio of 89.8 percent. Across, the smartphone measures 8.12mm and weighs 187 grams.

Under the hood, the smartphone runs on MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC, an octa-core chipset with two cores at 2.2GHz and six cores at 2GHz, and the Mali-G57 Mc2 GPU. The chipset is combined with either 4 or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The processor provides a similar performance to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC.

On the rear panel, the Oppo A59 5G has two camera sensors: a 13MP (f/2.2) primary sensor and a 2MP (f/2.4) secondary depth sensor. On the front, users get an 8MP (f/2.0) selfie shooter with a 77-degree field of view.

Apart from this, the smartphone features a large 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33W SuperVOOC charging. The battery juices from zero to 52 percent in about 30 minutes with the fast charging speed. In typical usage, the battery should easily last an entire day. Users also get a Superpower Saving Mode.

The Oppo A59 5G also comes with an IP54 water and dust resistance, a stand-out feature, as other phones in the segment lack an official IP rating. This makes the phone slightly more durable than others.

Oppo A59 5G Price And Availability

The phone’s base variant, with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, is available for Rs. 14,999, while the top variant, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, is available for Rs. 16,999. That said, the device should be available from Amazon, Flipkart, Oppo’s official store, and other leading retail stores starting December 25, 2023.

Those with SBI, IDFC First Bank, or Bank or Baroda cards should also get an instant discount of Rs. 1,500 on the smartphone.
