OnePlus Camera M Mod Improves OnePlus 5 and 5T Camera Capabilities

OnePlus mobile phones pack best possible hardware of the day but where they fell a tad short is camera results. In this regards, the OnePlus 5 (review) and OnePlus 5T (review) were no different. In 2018, third-party developers might have found a solution to this weakness – the OnePlus Camera M. This new software mod developed by XDA developer claims to produce better camera results.

What is OnePlus Camera M Mod?

The software add-on for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T is developed by XDA member txx1219 who claims to have unlocked the full potential their respective camera. Post Camera M Mod install, it tweaks the default camera app at the kernel level. Results of it, is a slightly brighter and sharper image in comparison to an untampered app. 

How To Install OnePlus Camera M Mod?

  • The installation process of this new mod is not entirely a cake walk.An XDA Developer has, however, come up with a solution. He has developed a new camera.Firstly, to install this OnePlus Camera Mod M there is a prerequisite that your OnePlus 5 or 5T have to be rooted with Magisk. If you have a OnePlus 5 or 5T root with Super SU method, you have to unroot your OnePlus phone and then again re-root it using Magisk.
  • Once rooting process is done, make sure your phone’s camera app is not updated. You can restore your Camera app by hitting Settings>>Apps>>Camera>>Disable.
  • Finally, you are required to download the OnePlus Camera M Mod Magisk module from xda-forums and flash it via the recovery installed (TWRP recovery preferred).
  • Now you are good to go.

The Chinese company made its mark in 2017 with OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. Both of these flagship killer devices are powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. Recently, OnePlus announced OnePlus 5T Lava Red edition in which is retailing for Rs. 37,999 as it packs 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
