OnePlus 9 Series 5G is all set to globally debut on March 23. The company has scheduled the online launch event for 7:30 PM IST. OnePlus has also announced its partnership with the legendary Swedish camera manufacturer Hasselblad to design the cameras of the OnePlus 9 series.
OnePlus 9 series is reportedly to arrive in two models of OnePlus 9e and OnePlus 9 Pro. The high-end 9 Pro is believed to feature the Hasselblad cameras. The company has revealed the back panel design of the phone that matches the previous leak. There is a Hasselblad branding on its rectangular rear camera setup.
Commenting on the partnership with Hasselblad, OnePlus confirms that the duo will work together for the next three years to manufacture next-gen camera systems for upcoming OnePlus smartphones. The company has also allocated a budget of 150 million USD for the development of enhanced mobile photography capabilities. It will set up four new R&D centers in Japan and the US.

Pete Lau, Founder and CEO of OnePlus said, “With OnePlus’ top-of-the-line hardware and computational photography and Hasselblad’s rich aesthetic knowledge in traditional photography, I am confident that the OnePlus 9 Series will be a major leap forward in our ability to deliver a premium, flagship camera.”
For the OnePlus 9 series, the Shenzhen-based manufacturer has announced to employ the newly developed Natural Color Calibration with Hasselblad. The technology will enable the OnePlus device to provide natural-looking colors in photos. There will also be a Hasselblad Pro mode that claims to offer more control for post-editing and fine-tuning the pictures.
Both the new partners will work together in developing new camera features including ultra-wide click with 140° Field-of-View, free-form lens, and T-lens technology for fast focusing from the front camera. The latter feature will be used in the OnePlus 9 series.
Previously, we had learned from the rumors that the OnePlus 9 Pro will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 888 chipset with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM. The phone could also feature a 6.7-inch 120Hz Fluid AMOLED display, 5G, 65W fast charging, and Android 11 based OxygenOS. The specs will be more clear with the official release. So, mark your calendars for March 23.
