The OnePlus 15 is shaping up to be a smartphone with one of the best displays.. Ahead of its official launch, OnePlus has teased key display details, confirming that its next flagship will debut with BOE’s third-generation Flexible OLED panel, a new screen that BOE is set to unveil on October 14.

The company says the OnePlus 15 will be the world’s first smartphone to feature a 165Hz OLED display, setting a new benchmark for mobile screens. It will also be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

OnePlus 15 to Feature Next-Gen BOE Oriental Display

In a Weibo post, OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus 15 will feature a third-generation BOE Flexible “Oriental Display”, co-developed with BOE. The new OLED promises major improvements in brightness, power efficiency, and color accuracy.

According to OnePlus, the new BOE panel on the OnePlus 15 delivers a significant leap in display performance. The brand claims the third-generation BOE Flexible OLED offers up to 13 percent higher peak brightness (HBM) for improved outdoor visibility, along with 11.8 percent better color accuracy and consistency for more lifelike visuals.

The display is also said to last 30 percent longer than the previous generation while consuming 10 percent less power, making it both brighter and more efficient. Thanks to this advanced panel, the OnePlus 15 achieves ultra-narrow 1.15mm bezels, resulting in an almost edge-to-edge screen. It will also feature a True Hardware 1-nit Dark Night Display mode, ensuring comfortable and flicker-free viewing even in low-light environments.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 will also integrate Oppo’s new P3 Display Chip, featuring a redesigned chip architecture capable of charging a single pixel row in just 1.3 microseconds reportedly twice as fast as the industry average.

The chip leverages 39 dynamic tuning algorithms to deliver smoother motion, deeper contrast, and enhanced visual stability, according to OnePlus.

Design and Other Key Details

The upcoming OnePlus 15 is expected to feature a refined square camera module, moving away from the circular design seen on earlier models like the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 13.

Recently, OnePlus also teased a new color variant, ‘Original Dune’ (or Sand Dune), that draws inspiration from natural desert tones. Combined with the slim-bezel front design, this could be one of the brand’s most premium-looking flagships yet.

OnePlus 15 Launch Timeline and Expectations

BOE will officially showcase its third-generation Oriental Display on October 14, where the OnePlus 15’s screen is expected to take center stage. OnePlus is likely to announce its flagship later this year or early 2026, aligning with its usual launch cycle.

With the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, BOE’s latest OLED, and Oppo’s custom display chip, the OnePlus 15 could redefine what users expect from smartphone visuals, not just in China, but globally.
