A week after visiting Badrinath, Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar announced the release date of his upcoming movie-OMG 2. OMG 2 will release in theatres during the Independence Day Weekend that is on the 11th of August 2023. A few days ago, the actor shared the poster of the movie via his Instagram handle confirming a theatre release for the sequel of OMG starring Paresh Rawal released in 2012. Now, the trailer of the movie has been unveiled.
OMG 2 Poster Revealed by Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar shared a new poster for Oh My God 2 in which the actor can be seen in the getup of Lord Shiva, with ash smeared on his face. He can be seen in a dhoti, with a bead necklace around his neck and sports deadlocks reaching his knees.
The poster has confirmed that, unlike the last time wherein Akshay played Lord Krishna, this time he will be seen in Mahadeva Avatar.
Sharing the poster, the actor wrote, “Aa rahe hain hum, aaiyega aap bhi. 11th August in theatres. OMG 2.”
OMG 2 Poster Reactions
The comments section of Akshay’s post mostly had positive feedback. It was greeted with “Har Har Mahadev” screams wherein one fan commented “ Aap aaye aur hum na aaye..” while another wrote, “Bhai log yeh pakka blockbuster hogi.” Even the critics hailed the first look to be impactful.

About the trailer
The Trailer shows Kanti will fight a challenging court case to secure the future of his son. Yami Gautam who plays a lawyer will be seen opposing Tripathi. Akshay as Lord Shiva will help Kanti in his difficult journey.
The trailer begins with Lord Shiva asking his loyal Nandi to send one of his messengers to the aid of Pankaj’s Kanti Sharan Mudgal whose son has been expelled from school for a vulgar act. Kanti files a case in the court but he is both the defendant and the accuser.
OMG 2 received an adult certificate from the CBFC with a list of changes that include the removal of visuals of frontal nudity, modification of visuals of what is described as sculptures of unnatural sex, and the mention of real places like Ujjain. Moreover, earlier Akshay Kumar was seen as Lord Shiva but CBFC has changed it to become a messenger of Lord Shiva.

With the announcement of OMG 2, a big clash has been confirmed for 11th August. The movie will clash with Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2.
About the OMG 2 movie
Some reports claim that Oh My God 2 will be based on the Indian education system and will explore topics such as exam pressures and college admissions.
The first chapter released in 2012 had the story of Kanji Lalji Mehta who sued God for the loss of his shop during an earthquake. It has Paresh Rawal in the lead role along with Akshay Kumar as Lord Krishna. The movie also had actors like Om Puri and Mithun Chakraborty in pivotal roles.
