TL; DR
  • According to an industry insider, the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro will feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 (4nm) SoC.
  • The smartphone should feature similar dimensions to the Phone (2a) (review), with the same 6.72-inch AMOLED 120Hz screen.
  • While we expect the Phone (3a) to cost under Rs. 25,000 in India (with the introductory offers), the Phone (3a) Pro could be priced around Rs. 30,000 for the baseline variant.

The London-based consumer tech brand Nothing is gearing up to launch the Phone (3a) series on March 4, 2025, and we’ve learned some exciting bits about the handsets in the lineup. To begin with, the Phone (3a) lineup will consist of two phones at the launch: the vanilla Phone (3a) and the Phone (3a) Pro. Today, we’ll share with you some exclusive information we’ve gathered about the Phone (3a) Pro.

Nothing Phone (3a) Pro To Feature This Snapdragon Chipset

Nothing Phone (3a) Pro To Feature This Snapdragon Chipset

According to the tipster, the Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro will both feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 (4nm) SoC. The chipset features a 2.5 GHz prime core, three 2.4 GHz performance cores, and four 1.8 GHz efficient cores.

With the CPU, the chipset has the Adreno 810 GPU and a powerful Qualcomm Hexagon NPU. The processor should give the smartphone a performance boost.

Nothing Phone (3a) Pro To Ship With A 3x Periscope Lens

Further, we’ve learned that the Phone (3a) Pro will sport three camera sensors: a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP secondary sensor with a 3X zoom lens that supports OIS (and macro mode via close focusing distance), and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. Thanks to the 3X periscope lens, the phone will be capable of doing 60X hybrid zoom.

Interestingly, the phone’s 3X lens is paired with the Sony LYT-600 sensor. We’ve seen this sensor being used on other phones in the segment, like the realme 13 Pro+. As for the sensor size itself, the LYT-600 is a 1/1.95” type sensor. Not to mention, we’ve already seen the company showcasing the phone’s zooming capabilities on its social media platforms like X and Instagram, where we can clearly see a lens switching happening at 3X zoom.

Nothing Phone (3a) And Phone (3a) Pro To Share Many Specifications

Both smartphones will feature a 6.72-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Dimensions should be identical to the Phone (2a) (review). They will also share an official IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. Powering the devices will be a 5,000 mAh battery.

On the camera front (as stated earlier), both models will come equipped with a 50 MP main sensor and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, with the only difference being the zoom lens. The Phone (3a) will have a 2X zoom option, while the Phone (3a) Pro will step it up with a 3X periscope lens capable of 60X hybrid zoom.

Nothing Phone (3a) And Phone (3a) Pro Expected Pricing

Nothing is likely to price the Phone (3a) under ₹25,000 (with introductory offers), while the Phone (3a) Pro could start around ₹30,000. The series will officially hit the shelves on March 4, 2025.

The telephoto lens is clearly the major selling point of the Pro model, and there could be a few more surprises that we don’t know of yet. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the launch.
