Nokia 8 Android Oreo Update Start’s Rolling Out: All that’s New

HMD Global has been marketing pure Android has an advantage on the new Nokia phones. That’s because the unadulterated Google software is light, efficient, and easy to upgrade. Well, the company has already started rolling out Android Oreo update for its current flagship Nokia 8 (Quick Review) and other affordable phones should follow suit soon.

What Changes will Android Oreo bring to Nokia 8?

Apart from several background changes and refinements, the new Android oreo highlighted features include

  • Picture-in-Picture Mode – YouTube like minimized floating window across the OS.
  • Background restrictions to reduce standby battery drain
  • Smart text select bar – can display relevant app icon depending on the highlighted text.
  • Auto-fill Frameworks – Password managers can maintain Chrome like Auto Fill repository across the OS. They will get a lot better now.
  • You can add the fourth button to navigation bar, besides other tweaks
  • Fingerprint sensor gestures for all apps
  • Ability to program your WiFi to turn on for select locations.
  • Adjust the intensity of Night Mode
  • New and improved Emojis
  • Customize lock screen app shortcuts
  • Navigation using keyboard will get better
  • There will be widgets in App shortcuts
  • Features like Notification badges, snooze notifications, Notification Priority added to improve how you interact with notifications.
  • New Battery menu

Nokia 8 Specifications and Price

The Nokia 8 comes with a 5.3-inch 2K display, dual 13MP rear cameras with Zeiss optics, and is powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The handset was originally priced at 36,999 INR but the price has now been reduced to 32,999 INR, which makes it a direct rival to OnePlus 5T.
