Motorola has launched three smartphones in the Edge 50 lineup so far—the Edge 50 Pro, Edge 50 Fusion, and the Edge 50 Ultra. However, one smartphone is still missing in the lineup, and that is the vanilla Edge 50. Contrary to what many assumed, Motorola will be launching the vanilla Edge 50 in India.
We can confirm this courtesy of the listing of the device that we spotted on BIS. The Motorola Edge 50 bears the model number XT2407-3. The same model number was spotted earlier on UAE’s TDRA as the Motorola Edge 50, which is how we can confirm that this is indeed the vanilla Edge 50.

The same model number was also spotted on FCC and EEC, with a variation in the last digit (likely for different regions). Either way, the FCC certification confirms that the Motorola Edge 50 will have a 5,000 mAh battery and support up to 68W fast charging (the charging adapter model number indicates it’s 68W).
The FCC certification also confirms support for NFC, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, Bluetooth, and 5G. That’s all we know about the Motorola Edge 50 for now.

If I am allowed to speculate, Motorola’s ₹24,000 to ₹30,000 segment is currently sitting dry. The Motorola Edge 50 could make this segment for Motorola bloom again.
Compared to the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, it could have a slightly toned-down chip, probably one from MediaTek, a slightly toned-down camera setup, and the rest of the setup should be similar. Let’s see what Motorola has in store for us. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments section below.
