Windows mobile phone enthusiasts in India now have something to cheer for. The tech giant has launched its two new flagship phones: Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL. Both these phones were earlier showcased at Microsoft event in November, New York and have now been introduced in India.
Pre-booking for two Lumia flagship starts today, only on both online and offline market – Amazon, Microsoft stores, Chroma and Reliance Digital stores. It will be available from 11th December 2015.
The Microsoft Lumia 950 is a Dual SIM smartphone which features a 5.2-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) AMOLED display. It wears layer of Corning Glass 3 and has a pixel density of 564ppi. The Lumia 950 is powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor ticking at 1.8GHz and it get additional assistance from 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB of inbuilt storage which can be bumped up to 2TB via microSD card. It comes with USB Type-C port which is USB 3.1 certified. With regards to optics, the Lumia 950 sports a 20-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization), a F/1.9 aperture, and a triple-LED RGB flash module. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.

On the other hand, it’s bigger sibling – Lumia 950 XL sports a larger 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display with a pixel density of 518ppi. Under its hood, enthralls a Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz coupled with 3 GB of RAM. Link Lumia 950, it is also cooled down with liquid-cool technology.
The optics on both phones are the same and both gets a dedicated camera key. The USP of these two Windows 10 powered devices is its Continuum feature, which turns the smartphone into a full-fledged PC running Windows 10.
