How to Link Your Aadhaar With Your Mobile Number From Home

1

As per the Government regulations, it is mandatory for all citizens to link their mobile number with Aadhaar card on or before 31st March 2018. Up until now, the verification could be done by visiting respective network provider’s official store.

But UIDAI has now rolled out another option with which you can do the verification process from home using Interactive Voice Response (IVR). The method came into effect from January 1st, 2018. It is a very simple process where users who still haven’t linked their Aadhaar with the mobile number (that’s still around 50 crores) can call IVR that would complete the process through a one-time password (OTP) on the number linked with your Adhaar card.

Steps To Link your Aadhaar Number to your Mobile Number

Step 1: Dial the IVR number 14546 (toll-free) from your phone.

Step 2: Follow the commands and provide your consent to link your UIDAI Aadhaar number with your mobile number.

Step 3: Next, Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.

Step 4: Accept your consent to allow the programme to fetch your name, DOB and Address linked to your mobile number.

Step 5: An OTP will be sent to your number.

Step 6: You will get an SMS confirming the Re-verification, which also says that the process will take up to 48 hours to complete.

Linking Aadhaar with Mobile Number Without Visiting Store

The IVR linking process supports English, Hindi, and several regional languages. The roadmap for e-verification was laid by the Govt of India back in December, and it is only now that it has come into effect since telecoms requested some time to make suitable changes once the TRAI approved it. The Government is expected to introduce more ways of linking your Aadhaar card with your mobile number without visiting the operator stores.
