LG patent reveals a phone with 3 front cameras: Design and Details

If not for anything else, the South-Korean giant is known for its daring ventures in the tech realm. Few phones from the top of our head like the LG chocolate, LG G Flex, LG G5, and even the latest LG G8 ThinQ and LG V50 ThinQ are quirky and aberrant from their peers. A new patent filed by the consumer durable brand also hint at an upcoming phone’s peculiarity.

As you can see from the above patent design, the phone could sport triple front cameras. Yeah, the patent has been approved by the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO). However, going against the grain, the new design choice would include a notch. Evidently, the new cutout has to be wide enough to house all three cameras.

Else, the LG device could showcase very thin bezels on the top and bottom and on the sides. Flip to the back, you could have yet again a triple shooter aligned horizontally. And just below that, the circular fingerprint scanner resides.

If you recall, the recently launched LG G8 ThinQ and LG V50 ThinQ also take the same horizontally housed camera triplet. But that could be just one similarity between the future and present generation LG phones. Well, the tech community would love the LG phones to innovate meaningfully and also see commercial success.

Other interesting things about the phone include the Google Assistant trigger and a long SIM/microSD card tray on the sides. The 3.5mm jack is nowhere to be seen. And if LG also ditches the same, it would be a big bummer!

It’s too early for any speculations and the company is yet to spill any details on the device specs and other important features. LG is delaying the sale of LG V50 ThinQ as they are apparently working with Qualcomm to enhance the 5G performance on the phone. We are hyper-aware to all the tech news out there. So, if and when we get more update on LG V50 ThinQ as well as their other products, you’ll be the first to know.
