The Indian smartphone manufacturer Lava has launched a new mid-range handset, the Lava Agni 4. With its capable chipset, a 50MP primary camera, and a comprehensive AI suite, the smartphone offers a feature-rich alternative in the Rs. 20,000-25,000 segment. It will be available soon via the popular e-commerce platform Amazon.

  • Lava Agni 4 (8GB + 256GB): Rs. 24,999

The mid-range handset is available in only one memory and storage configuration. Interested buyers can also avail of a Rs. 2,000 instant discount with all bank credit and debit cards.

What’s good is that the company is still providing free at-home replacement for manufacturing defects under warranty.

The Agni 4 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen (446 ppi) with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a peak local brightness of 2,400 nits. To protect the screen against scratches, Lava has equipped the smartphone with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. To complement the screen, the smartphone also features stereo speakers.

Under the hood, the phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset (with a peak clock speed of 3.35 GHz), paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. For those catching up, UFS 4.0 storage is relatively faster than UFS 3.1 storage found on models in this segment.

Out of the box, the smartphone runs Android 15, and Lava has promised 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patch updates.

The Agni 4 also includes Vayu AI, which refers to system-wide AI features that include a voice assistant, visual intelligence, a feature similar to Google’s Circle to Search, and different AI agents for specific tasks, like AI Math and English teachers, AI Horoscope, AI Call Summary, AI Text Assistant, and AI Photo Editor.

Regarding optics, the phone flaunts a 50MP (f/1.88, 1/1.55″, OIS) primary camera, an 8MP (f/2.22) ultrawide camera, and a 50MP front-facing camera. Both the primary and the selfie camera support 4K60 video recording.

Powering the handset is a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 66W fast wired charging. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.4, GPS, and USB Type-C 3.2. Additional features include an infrared sensor, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
