Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R Design and Specifications

The all-new Ninja ZX-4R inherits the distinct family traits of the renowned ZX motorcycle lineup, showcasing a striking yet subtly elegant fairing. With its aggressive design, this motorcycle exudes a captivating allure. What makes it truly stand out is its classification as a sub-500cc 4-cylinder motorcycle, an exhilarating and rare proposition in the Asian subcontinent.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R embodies the thrilling, high-revving engine characteristics synonymous with 4-cylinder bikes while shedding the extra weight often associated with middleweight and lower-tier liter-class motorcycles. By way of comparison, the Honda CBR650R, being a larger capacity motorcycle, weighs in at 211 kg, further enhancing the Ninja ZX-4R’s impressive power-to-weight ratio.

Powertrain

When it comes to power, the Kawasaki ZX-4R is equipped with a potent 399cc 4-cylinder engine, delivering a robust 74.4 bhp of power at a remarkable 14,500 RPM, along with a torque output of 39 Nm at an equally impressive 13,000 RPM. This engine configuration places the ZX-4R squarely in the “screamer” category, characterized by its ability to achieve exceptionally high engine speeds for its displacement. As a general rule of thumb, smaller pistons tend to rev higher, and the ZX-4R exemplifies this principle with its remarkable performance.

The Ninja ZX-4R comes equipped with a responsive 6-speed gearbox complemented by a slip and assist clutch, enhancing both smooth gear shifts and rider comfort. Notably, it features the Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) system, offering riders the choice of three traction modes to suit varying conditions and preferences.

Kawasaki proudly dubs the Ninja ZX-4R as “India’s first 399cc In-line 4 beast,” highlighting its exceptional performance within its displacement class. The bike’s aesthetically pleasing fairing not only adds to its visual appeal but also allows riders to comfortably tuck behind it, providing optimal wind protection for an enhanced riding experience.
