Kawasaki has introduced its inaugural road-legal dual sport motorcycle in the country. The Kawasaki KLX 230 is priced at Rs. 3.30 lakh ex-showroom, addressing the long-awaited demand from motorcycle enthusiasts for a versatile bike that complies with Indian road regulations. Deliveries for this model are set to commence in January 2025.

Kawasaki KLX 230 Motorbike: Design

The motorcycle features a robust yet streamlined design that reflects its heritage within the KLX family. It is equipped with a single-piece slim seat, hexagonal headlights, a beak-like fender, and a 7.6L fuel tank. The Kawasaki KLX 230 will be available in Lime Green and Battle Grey colors. An exhaust system is discreetly positioned beneath the seat, allowing the bike to handle various terrains with ease.

At the front, it boasts long-travel telescopic forks, while the rear is supported by a monoshock. Both ends are fitted with disc brakes, and an LCD instrument cluster provides essential information. Additionally, the bike is outfitted with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, along with standard switchable dual-channel ABS.

The motorcycle is equipped with a 230xx air-cooled single-cylinder engine that delivers 18.1 horsepower and 18.3 Nm of torque, combined with a 6-speed transmission. For suspension, the KLX230 features a 37mm telescopic front fork offering 240mm of travel, along with a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear that provides 250mm of travel. The braking system consists of a 265mm front disc with twin-piston calipers and a 220mm rear disc with a single piston.

Additional amenities include a monotone LCD display with optional Bluetooth connectivity, a lower seat height for enhanced accessibility, a USB Type-C charger, a handlebar pad, a luggage rack, and switchable dual-channel ABS.
