Last year we experienced a deluge of pop-up camera phones which led us to believe that the notches were finally on their way out. However, for some reason manufacturers didn’t stick to these mechanical modules and all sorts of notches paved their back in.

Today, Infinix launched its S5 Pro, an affordable phone that starts at Rs. 9999 and includes a pop-up camera.

Infinix S5 Pro Features

The pop-up module facilitates a more immersive or rather notch-free screen. The 6.53-inch LCD panel has Full HD+ (2220 x 1080) resolution and goes up to 480 Nits bright (claims Infinix).

The S5 Pro is powered by 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 chipset, which is a little long in the tooth. The SoC is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. And there’s a dedicated card slot should you have a need for further expansion. The software running on the phone is Android 10-based XOS 6.0.

Apart from the 16MP selfie shooter, there are two cameras on the rear – 48MP primary camera with f/1.79 aperture and a 2MP basic depth sensor.

Other highlights include Dual 4G VoLTE support, fingerprint sensor, and 4000mAh battery.

The Infinix S5 Pro measures ~9mm in thickness and weighs 189 grams. It will retail in Forest green and Violet color options on Flipkart starting from March 13.
