The Taiwanese smartphone maker will soon launch its 2018 flagship, the HTC U12+. Now A new set of leaked images suggest that the U12+ will be continuing with HTCs liquid surface design philosophy and the upcoming flagship will feature a glass back that will shimmer a little different when viewed from different angles.

Being a flagship phone, it is a given that it will be right up there with tier-1 options when it comes to innards and optics. The leaked images reveal a dual rear camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

If reports are true, the HTC U12+ won’t be joining the notch brigade as the display is likely to be a 5.7-inch QHD+ screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and extremely slim bezels on the front. The phone is expected to feature a battery bigger than its predecessors and more powerful yet efficient Snapdragon 845 chipset under its hood. In all probability, HTC will continue with USB Type-C for charging and data syncing.

There are some rumors suggesting HTC could offer up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage with support for up to 2TB via a micro-SD card slot. The U12 Plus will support dual-SIM (at least in India) and is expected to come out running on Android Oreo-based Sense UI. You can expect Edge Sense 2.0 which is likely to come with some new enhancements to famous squeeze function.

The U12+ is expected to include a 12MP + 12MP dual camera at the back with f/1.8 and f/2.6 aperture, respectively, UltraPixel 4 technology and UltraSpeed AF, along with Optical Image Stabilisation. A couple of images captured with HTC U12+ camera are already making rounds on the internet.

HTC is likely to continue with HTC’s U-Sonic sound, BoomSound and support for High-Res audio. The U12+ will feature Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 as well as Qi wireless charging. The phone is further said to be IP68-certified for dust and water resistance.

HTC U12+ Launch Date Expected

Although HTC is yet to officially announce any date, the HTC U12+ is expected to go official in May 2018. We expect HTC U12+ to enter Indian market soon after the global unveiling.
